Club History

Tri-County Kiwanis Club was chartered as one of 7,700 clubs in 80 countries in 2010. Our motto is "Serving the Children of the World".

  • Tri-County Kiwanis was formed in 2010 to serve the communities of Somonauk, Sandwich and Plano.  Founding members include: Mark Weinhold, George Van Dee, Mimi Brayn, Diane Stilson, Denise Krafft and many more.
  • As one of the newer clubs of Division 14, Tri-County Kiwanis has not really changed much.  We have been true to the projects and visions we had when we first started.  Projects such as Fruit of the Room, Peanut Days, and Roadside Pick-up continue to be our signature projects.
  • A few quick highlights have been that our Fruit of the Room project has been highlighted in the Kiwanis International magazine.  And we are home to former Lt. Governor George Van Dee.
